Stela S from Akhet-Aten

Boundary Stela S

This is a photograph of one of the boundary stela of Akhet-Aten, carved into the cliffs surrounding the site of Amarna, wherein Akhenaten proclaims his plans for his great city, "The Horizon of the Sun." Most such boundary stelae have not survived the ravages of time nearly as well.
