Web Links - General Sites and Histories
A subsection of the Amarna Web
Links
Annotated Sites dealing with the Amarna Period:
A very nice site containing information about Royalty of
the 18th dynasty, links to outside information, and a reading
list.
- A
Slice of Time - Amarna
A wide variety of information about the Amarna period. Includes
pictures, maps, building plans, theories, and geneology.
- Akhenaten,
Tutankhamun and the Amarna Period (from Akhet
Internet)
This subsection of Akhet Internet is an Amarna site in itself.
It's very complete and includes, in particular, some very
nice graphics. The information includes some lesser-known
aspects of the Amarna period.
- Akhenaten's
World
This is a promising new site that hopes to examine often
ignored aspects of Akhenaten's world, including other personalities,
races and nations of the time.
- Mayati's
Egypt - Akhenaten and the Amarna Period: The Murder of Tutankhamun
This site is a nicely designed (if somewhat strange) site
which will take you on a tour of the Amarna period.
- Index
for the Late 18th Dynasty Egyptian History
In-depth information about the entire 18th Dynasty by topic.
Information in some other languages:
Un site tres grand, dans laquelle on trouve de l'histoire
generale avant et pendant la regne d'Akhnaton, des inscriptions
et detailes. Wow, my french is rusty.
This looks huge, but it's in Dutch. If you know Dutch,
let me know the Dutch word for "Dutch", and perhaps
the general content of the page. From the looks of it,
I suspect it's an overview of his period.
Spanish (I think). I'm not sure what it says, but it
looks extensive and has the occasional "Aknaten"
and "Amenhotep IV" amongst the words I can't read.
